We have exciting news! On Monday, with the help of Georgia Aquarium, we rescued a stranded beluga whale calf from Bristol Bay. The male calf, estimated at 2 to 3 days old, was found near the Diamond O Cannery in Naknek. Thanks also to Grant Aviation and the passengers that day that rearranged their schedules so that we could transport him out.
Great news via the Alaska SeaLife Center Facebook page!

Calf looks older than 2-3 days to me, as I can’t see any fetal folds. I’d probably put it more around 1-2 months… then again, could just be the angle of the photo. In any regard, congrats! Best wishes for this little guy :)
